The RailGenArchive site is dedicated to a time when it was still possible to travel all over the British Railway network on traditional locomotive hauled passenger trains behind a wide variety of real locomotives.
This site is the official continuation of the 1980's Timewarp project.

The objective of the RailGenArchive project is to gather together as much accurate information as possible recording the classic BR locomotive fleet and the passenger trains they worked right across the BR network.
The RailGenArchive database at present covers the years 1975-1989 and currently contains: 277244 passenger workings in total.
With your help this site can only continue to grow. With so many workings on this site already there should be something
of interest here for all UK Rail enthusiasts of that era be you Train spotter, Photographer, Haulage Basher or Railway Modeller?
All loco classes and areas feature without bias as to our own personal preferences... Gen traceable back to contributors...
Many workings are confirmed by multiple observers at different points en-route... Site updated regularly...
